Program Information
“Soñadores” or Dreamers – Infants 6 weeks to 17 months
Our infant room was designed to provide babies with a serene atmosphere, filled with nurture, safety, tranquility, and a desire to learn and explore. Infants are exposed to various daily activities from music and movement, to language development, storytelling, singing, cuddling, finger and hand games, quiet play, and to equipment that encourages manipulation and focuses on strengthening the fine motor skills. This room is designed to meet and stimulate every baby's developmental needs.
Our trained staff pays attention, just as you do, to make sure each child is reaching his or her developmental milestones. Our teachers watch closely for "indicators”, to see when each child exhibits readiness for the next stage of enrichment.
“Exploradores” or Explorers- 18-23 months
Toddlers are full of wonder and are mastering the capacity to explore, socialize, and develop emotionally. Through the use of play, games, books, songs, and rhymes, the children learn about the alphabet, beginning sounds, numbers and simple math concepts. Children are free to create, play and learn many new things. The activities experienced in his classroom include age-appropriate manipulatives, imaginative play, language, art, and gross motor skill development. This age group has its own fenced playground and is kept separated form the older children to insure their safety.
“Triunfadores” or Achievers- 2-3 year olds
The children in this group are exposed to more structured activities throughout the day. In addition to our center play and monthly themed activities, we gently introduce letters and sounds at this stage. We explore the alphabet (both upper and lower case) beginning and ending sounds, numbers and simple math concepts. We work on pre-writing skills and capital letter formation by taking care to design literacy lessons that reinforce our hands-on approach to developing their fine and gross motor skills. Child and teacher directed activities, art, storytelling, imaginative play, plenty of hands-on-learning, and literacy and language enrichment are some of their engaging explorations. Science is of top importance to young children. We promote this natural interest in the world around them with our learning center for science and discovery.
Our focus on sensory and cognitive stimulation and development continues in our toddler classrooms, as well as the continuation to help the children develop positive social skills e.g. sharing, waiting your turn, listening.
“Lideres” or Leaders- 4-5 year olds
At four years old and above children begin to show readiness for longer periods of instruction. We take advantage of their readiness by offering small group learning times where we focus on phonics, and counting skills, through the use of flash cards, songs, finger plays, and manipulatives. Circle Time is thematically based, lending itself to singing, finger plays, and conversation, where children learn to speak in turns and not interrupt. Each child's comprehension of previous lessons may be observed. Throughout the year, we review the alphabet, beginning and ending sounds and use several phonetic and whole language approaches in the teaching of reading as well as continuing to work on our writing and math skills. Our goal is to provide our children with a smooth transition into Kindergarten.
“Descubridores” or Discoverers- 5-12 years old
School-age kids want to feel all grown up, yet they still crave comfort and security. Our after-school program is designed to support their increasing interests in sports, art, music and more! Our teachers provide a balance of organized and self-selected activities, all in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Whether relaxing, doing homework, or having fun with friends, children thrive and you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing your child is safe and having fun.
